Popularized during the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the 20th century, the Ascot is in vogue even today.
Worn by celebrities all over the globe even today, this tie does symbolize class. It is basically a narrow neckband that has pointed wings, usually made of silk. Usually worn in the mornings, sometimes, it is also sported in the night. If you want to wear this tie to an upcoming event, better start practicing soon.

Instructions

Step 1: Unbutton your shirt's collar and the first 2-3 buttons to feel comfortable while tying the tie.
Step 2: Place the tie loosely around your neck with the right side longer than the left.
Step 3: Choose the right end of the scarf and gently place it over the left end.
Step 4: After the cross over, place the long end underneath the short end and loop the long end of the tie around the front of the knot.
Step 5: Till the 4th step there must be a Y structure that would be formed. Now bring the same long end of your tie through the Y which is at the neck. (Note: Do not bring the long end through the loop which you made in the 3rd step.)
Step 6: The top of the piece of your tie which is in the knot is supposed to be loose and the original knot would be hidden behind the piece of your tie.
Step 7: Once you attain this stage, tuck both the ends of your ascot tie inside your shirt and gently move the knot in the upward direction.
You want to do this slowly. Since the tie is made of silk, it might loosen up.
Step 8: As you keep tightening the knot, slowly close the buttons of your shirt until your desired look is achieved. If you want to show a bit of skin, you may leave the buttons open or else tie the knot tightly to cover it completely.
Step 9: You can also pull out your shirt's collar a little further than what we've suggested above. Tighten the tie, make it more puffy, and pull the collar out. Since your shirt is tight it would hold the tie firmly. If you feel stifled around your neck, open two of your shirt buttons, and pull down the fabric gently.
That will straighten up the mess around your neck. An alternative can be a vest. Tuck the ascot tie into the vest instead of your shirt. It looks really smart. Try wearing the tie inside both, the shirt and the vest. See which look suits you better and only then finalize your final look for the occasion.
